 Grand County School District believes that bullying is NOT: 

  • A natural part of childhood
  • Harmless
  • Inevitable
  • Acceptable
 

The act of Bullying can be described as the persistent pattern of physical or verbal harassment.  It is the continual harming of another person within an unequal power relationship.  Bullying is often conducted insecretive ways out of view of protectore.  Bullying can also be viewed as any behavior that has an unreasonable effect on someone else's ability to learn during school hours.

If you are a victim of a bully, or if you see a bully harassing others, you can report it without having to leave your name.

 The Grand County School District Board has defined bullying as:  deliberate, mean-spirited action intended to cause emotional or physical harm. dditionally, the Grand County chool District Board recognizes hat bullying is not harmless, or a normal part of childhood. Bullying implies an imbalance f power and status. In respect to this position:

· The School Board modified the Student Discipline Guide to include bullying.
· Students are encouraged to report bullying. The district will record the incident and document follow-up.
· Students will get help to understand their behavior, what to do about it, and will be disciplined.
· Students who are bullied will learn how to handle a bully and will be encouraged to report the incident.
